This can be a confusing topic. So let’s explain it!
The Simple Rule
⭐️ If the Friday you’re referring to is beyond seven days from today, including today, it’s next Friday.
A Visual Breakdown
It’s Monday
If today is Monday, then next Friday is the one that’s next Week. The Friday that immediately follows today (Monday) is this Friday, because it’s within seven days of today.
It’s Tuesday
Similarly, if today is Tuesday, then next Friday is still the one that’s next Week. The Friday that immediately follows today (Tuesday) is this Friday, because it’s still within seven days from today.
It’s Thursday
If today is Thursday, then next Friday is the one that’s next Week. The Friday that immediately follows today is simply Friday or tomorrow.
It’s Friday, Friday, Gotta get Down on Friday 🎶
If today is Friday, then next Friday is still the one that’s next Week. It’s still outside of the period that covers seven days from today (including today).
It’s Saturday
If today is Saturday, then the Friday that was—up until now, next Friday—is now this Friday. Next Friday is now in the following week.
Still Confused, or Worried about Confusing Others?
Use a calendar date: Friday, the 28th of February.
When’s Next Monday, or Tuesday, etc.?
Same simple rule (see above). Substitute Friday with the day you’re referring to.
The Week doesn’t Start with Sunday!! 😡
Yes, it does 😂 But, you can adjust for the region where you’re physically located, if you wanna.
