**Show HN: Guided 3D Leonardo da Vinci Museum** Museum of Ages, a nonprofit's free guided 3D da Vinci museum, launched on HN. Built in Three.js with WebGPU/WebGL2 fallback, it has 17 stops: paintings at real size, 15 coded machines, 29 anatomy sheets, 207 manuscript pages (131 translated), and his final house in Amboise, in 7 languages. Code is AGPL-3.0. Reception was mixed. Many praised the tech and accessibility mission. But museum-tech veteran dmje questioned the "skeuomorphic" virtual-space approach as dated (1998), arguing editorial-driven online exhibitions like Wellcome Collection engage better; others agreed there's little proven demand. Major UX complaints: the walk is on rails with no free movement, ESC behaves confusingly, users can't stop the tour, and panels sometimes show no content. Creator micstradev defended the guided, pre-rendered approach as intentional for accessibility and older devices, but acknowledged needing a stop control and better navigation. Also noted: broken German translation and color-rendering issues. Suggestions included Gauguin and Escher museums next.
