A Tesla video claiming cars can "fly" via suction/ground effect sparked discussion on Hacker News. Commenters largely dismissed it as a marketing gimmick, comparing it to track-focused predecessors like the McMurtry Spéirling and Brabham BT46. While some praised the engineering, others questioned its road legality and practicality, noting the feature is better suited for controlled track use. The post was also identified as a duplicate of a previous HN submission. Overall, the community viewed the capability as impressive but largely unnecessary for everyday driving.
