Introducing MeetHN, a new platform that connects users based on location to facilitate face-to-face meetings within the Hacker News community. The user-friendly interface includes a simple registration process, where users input their preferred username, city, and country. Upon completing the form, users receive a unique identifier that they should include in their Hacker News profile bio. Users can also optionally provide social media handles and interest tags to make connections easier. Created by an avid Hacker News fan seeking local members due to limited tech-focused communities in his current city, MeetHN aims to bring together individuals with shared curiosity and enthusiasm for technological exploration. MeetHN features a Twitter account, open-source coding, integration with other platforms like Ask HN, and user testimonials from various helpful contributors. How it works?

Optionnaly (it's recommended!) you can add links to your socials as well as some tags to showcase your interests.

Why does it exist?

I created this because, despite its harsh reputation on the internet, I love the HN community. I have fewer than a handful of friends who are as curious and eager to think and reflect as the people on HN. Also, the city I currently live in is more focused on industry than on technology and entrepreneurship, which are core to HN.

This led me to want to meet the HN community IRL. After trying `site:news.ycombinator.com/user toulouse` on Google and getting only one result, I decided to create meet.hn.
